Therapy is a working relationship in which the therapist and client work together to understand the client’s problems and generate constructive solutions, so the client can achieve mental health and wellness.
People often think therapy is only for people with serious mental health issues. The truth is that anyone can benefit from therapy at some point in their lives. Our services are for anyone looking for a private, confidential space to talk out a problem, get support in a transitional time, or gain deeper insight into their life. We cover relationship issues, stress management, life changes, low mood, nervousness, and much more.
Our therapists are all qualified to offer support on a number of issues, though we each have different specialties and approaches. If you’re not sure which therapist is right for you, give us a call! We’ll listen to what you’re struggling with and advise you on the best person to fit your needs. If you don’t feel like your therapist is the right fit, you can always call and request to book with another therapist — no hard feelings! We understand that your relationship with your therapist is highly personal and want you to find the most comfortable fit for you.
To maintain your privacy and confidentiality, we consciously choose to work without insurance. When you book through insurance, insurance companies require your therapist to give you a diagnosis of mental illness on your medical record. They also monitor your personal files with intimate details of your sessions to decide if you should continue to receive mental healthcare. We do not believe you need a mental health diagnosis in order to receive care and are highly committed to your confidentiality. Read more about the benefits of out-of-network therapy.
We do offer sliding scales and will work with you to secure affordable treatment that’s right for you.

Each therapy session is 50 minutes.
The number of sessions you will need to make lasting changes will depend on many factors, including the problems you’re seeking to solve. We will work on your course of treatment together, and there is no obligation to continue. Keep in mind that therapy is like a workout — it is an investment in yourself, and it takes consistency to make meaningful and lasting changes. Clients who choose to come every 3-4 weeks find they do not benefit as much from therapy as those who attend weekly. We recommend attending sessions weekly or biweekly, particularly at the beginning of therapy. After some time, you may choose to spread sessions out further.
All of our interactions are confidential unless you are planning to harm yourself or someone else or you report the abuse of a minor or elder. Confidentiality is outlined in our informed consent agreement. We strive to maintain the utmost privacy and confidentiality. For virtual counseling, I complete continuing training to maintain a Board-Certified TeleMental Health Provider credential to ensure your confidentiality in online therapy as well.
Because we don’t work with insurance companies, we are not required to give you an official diagnosis. If your therapist believes a diagnosis is warranted, they will inform you as such.
Yes! We specialize in therapy for all ages — adults, teenagers, and children.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that addresses the way our thoughts and behaviors affect our moods.
By examining our inner beliefs, the way we talk to ourselves, and the way we view situations, we can learn to feel better and more in control of the things that happen to us. These are cognitive techniques.
Behavioral techniques include relaxation exercises, self-care skills, and communication skills. For some cases of anxiety-related issues, behavioral techniques can also include exposure, desensitization, and habit reversal.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is research-based and, along with its counterpart Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), has been shown to be effective for a number of psychological concerns including depression, anxiety, PTSD, addiction and substance abuse, borderline personality, insomnia, and general stress.
